Bath toys rarely stay where they land after the water drains. A few balance along the tub edge, smaller pieces collect around the drain, and toys on the tub floor get in the way of the next shower. A solid bin clears the tub, but it gives all that water another place to collect.
Good bath toy storage has to deal with more than the pile of toys. Holding them is the easy part. Wet toys also need somewhere to drain instead of sitting together in a damp container.
A mesh bath toy organizer lets surface water escape through the sides and bottom. An over-the-rim design also avoids another surprisingly common complication: persuading an organizer full of toys to stay on a bathroom wall.
Suction cups and adhesive hooks keep the organizer off the tub floor, but they also have to hold its weight against the wall. If they lose their grip, the toys and the organizer end up back in the tub.
Using the tub rim for support removes that particular weak point. After a bath, the toys can go into the mesh together instead of spreading across the tub. The open material lets surface water drain rather than collect underneath them.

Check the Tub Rim Before Choosing One
An over-the-rim organizer needs an exposed tub rim, so it will not suit every bathtub. If surrounding surfaces leave little room around the tub, the organizer may have nowhere to hang properly.
In that bathroom, wall-mounted storage may make more sense. The mounting method then deserves as much attention as the basket or bag itself.
Mesh cannot solve water trapped inside squeeze toys either. It improves drainage around the toys, but it cannot empty water trapped inside one.
The same distinction helps with small bathroom storage more generally. Moving something off one surface only works when its new position suits the way the item gets used. Bath toys arrive at their storage spot wet.
With a suitable tub rim, the wet toys can go straight into a draining mesh holder after the bath. The tub floor and ledge stay clear without trading scattered wet toys for a container full of them.
