The Bathroom Counter Is Organized. Why Does It Still Look Cluttered?

Putting all the makeup and skincare together should make a bathroom counter look tidier. Sometimes it just produces a very organized patch of clutter.
Putting everything in an organizer does not necessarily clear the counter. If the storage is open, the makeup is still sitting there in full view.
An open organizer can make this worse in a surprisingly orderly way. It gives everything a designated spot without reducing how many individual bottles, tubes and compacts you can see.
A makeup organizer with drawers changes that part of the arrangement. Smaller items can sit behind drawer fronts while bottles and jars that work better upright remain on the open levels above.
The drawers give the little things somewhere else to go. Palettes and tubes can be put away instead of being fitted into the spaces between bottles. You still know where they are, but you don’t have to look at all of them every time you use the sink.
The Drawer Needs Somewhere to Go
Closed storage introduces one small complication: the drawers have to open.
An organizer can fit comfortably beside the sink and still become awkward once a drawer is pulled forward. A faucet, soap dispenser or another container directly in front of it can turn a perfectly good storage spot into one where the bottom drawer barely opens.
The organizer itself is about 6.9 inches deep, but that measurement is only the space it occupies while closed. The useful spot also needs clear counter space in front of the drawers.
If bottles and toiletries have spread beyond the makeup itself, keeping the bathroom counter clear may require deciding which things genuinely need to remain beside the sink. Moving everything into one larger organizer only creates a taller version of the same problem.
With the smaller containers inside the drawers, fewer tubes, palettes and jars remain visible around the sink.
