Once a remote gets past the top of the cushions, finding it can mean pulling one of them out and reaching down beside the couch frame. Putting the remote back on the seat afterward leaves it in the same place it disappeared from.
A couch arm remote holder moves it off the seat. The pockets hang beside the arm, close enough to use without leaving the remote loose among the cushions.
There is a catch with this kind of holder. The fabric hanging over the arm needs something to keep it there.
Sometimes the remote makes it past the cushions and ends up on the floor underneath. Toys and socks tend to follow the same route. If that gap causes its own problems, closing the space under the couch keeps small things from getting that far.
Look Between the Seat and the Arm First
Before buying the holder, check whether your couch gives that long section somewhere to go.
The organizer measures 19 by 35 inches. It is meant to run over the arm with part of the fabric tucked beneath the seat cushion. If the cushion lifts, there is plenty of material to trap underneath it. A gap between a fixed seat and the arm may also give you enough room to wedge the fabric in firmly.
A tight seam around a fixed cushion is different. There may be nowhere to tuck enough fabric to hold the organizer in place. On a recliner, the 35-inch length is worth checking too. It could hang over buttons or a lever on the outside of the arm.
There are six pockets, but they do not all need a job. One of the smaller ones can become the usual place for the remote, right beside the seat instead of somewhere on it.
