Stop Pets from Chewing Your Charging Cables

Charging cables often end up exactly where a curious pet can reach them. A cord running from an outlet to a desk, sofa, or nightstand may leave several feet exposed along the floor.
You can move some of the cable behind furniture, but sooner or later it has to emerge to reach the device. That often leaves a short section running along the floor or hanging beside a desk, sofa, or nightstand.
That exposed section is usually the part worth dealing with.
Put a Barrier Around the Cable
A chew-resistant cord cover wraps around the charging cable, adding a physical barrier without forcing you to move the charger somewhere less useful.
The 10-foot sleeve can be cut to fit, and its side opening lets you wrap it around an existing cord. It can also expand around several cables if they follow the same route.
You may not need to cover every inch. Follow the cable from the outlet to the device and look at where it drops toward the floor, passes beside furniture, or crosses an area your pet can enter. Those are the sections that matter.
Pay attention to where the cover stops as well. A few inches of bare cable beside the plug, charger, or device can leave another easy place to chew.
Chew-resistant does not mean chew-proof. Check the sleeve occasionally, especially if you know your pet has been chewing it. A damaged charging cable should be replaced rather than left in use inside the cover.
The cover also protects the cable rather than changing the chewing habit. If your pet regularly looks for things to chew, suitable chew toys or other appropriate outlets still matter.
Once the accessible cable is protected, you may be left with excess cord behind the desk or furniture. Keeping extra charger cord contained and out of the way deals with that separate problem.
The charger can stay where it is useful. The difference is that the length running through your pet’s reach no longer has to be bare.
