You don’t think about the litter box much, it’s just there. Then someone steps into the living room and you notice it in a different way. Not the mess.
Just the fact that it’s out in the open. It makes the room feel smaller somehow.
If the box sits near the sofa, under a window, or beside the media console, it’s hard to ignore once you’re looking at it through someone else’s eyes. Even when it’s clean, the plastic edges and open top don’t exactly blend in.
If you want to hide litter box in living room spaces without moving it to the bathroom or hallway, a furniture-style enclosure changes how that corner reads.
Instead of leaving an open tray by the wall, the litter box goes inside a covered ottoman-style cabinet. From the outside, it looks like a simple bench. The dark grey fabric works with most sofas and TV stands, so guests notice a piece of furniture rather than a pet area. The enclosed structure helps keep scattered litter inside and adds a layer of odor control, while still giving your cat a private space to use.
The flip-up lid makes daily scooping manageable, since you’re lifting the top instead of pulling the entire box out. Inside, there’s enough room for most cats to turn and dig comfortably. Because it supports weight, it can double as extra seating or a footrest, which helps in smaller living rooms where every item needs a purpose.

If the litter box has to stay in the living room, hiding it in something that already belongs there changes the feel of the whole space. The room looks more settled, even when guests stop by without warning.
